Nice trick! However, there are other more plausible explanations.
- Your ring finger is the only finger with a vein that goes directly to your heart.
- The tradition comes from the Trinity. The ancient ritual of english marriages was for the husband to place the ring on top of the thumb of the left hand, saying “In the name of the Father”, then moving it to the forefinger would say “In the name of the Son”, on to the middle finger saying “And of the Holy Ghost” and finally leaving it on the fourth finger ending with “Amen”
